Idaho Waterslide

We had the opportunity to go to our bishops families land, it is many acres and on there land they have made waterslides. One is 500 ft and the other is 800 ft. We had so much fun in the sun and sliding down with friends. We had trains on and off the tubes, going backwards, on our stomachs and racing. We had fun hanging out with the bishop, the Uboldi's, the Hagberg's, and other friends. We even got Owen to go by himself.

Crazy Summer Fun!!!

St. George!

We stopped and stayed in St. George before going to Lake Powell. We had fun playing with Great Grandpa and Grandma and Grandpa Scott and Grandma Sherry and Allie. We had fun playing outside and staying up late.

Lake Powell Trip

We went to Lake Powell this month with the Boulter family. It was so fun to be together and have fun on the lake and have everyone together with my Grandpa B. Everyone had a blast swimming, playing games, ski bobbing, slide off the house boat, cliff jumping, and Taylor and kelby got up on the wake board! We had fun late nights playing games, kayaking into a cove or to a good cliff for jumping, dodging spiders, that were everywhere! And of course fighting the occasional wind storm on the lake.

We also had the chance to take the kids to see the dam. All in all it was an excellent vacation!

Happy Birthday Owen!

Owen is now three! he has had quite a year with his diabetics but he has been a trooper. He has also become a big boy! He is potty trained and did it before his 3rd Birthday! he had a cras Birthday and was able to have his best buddies over, Preston and Gabe.

Brother Heninger from our ward has sat in this spot at the parade for over 40 years. he invited us to sit with them. He had set out 105 chairs.

Seven Peaks after the Parade, We got a season pass and we have had a blast hanging out in the sun on the water slides.

School, Scouts, St. George, Easter, a Birthday and a Piano Recital! Crazy busy!!!

Life has been crazy at the Talbot home. This is only a small portion of the craziness.

First, We have had many adventures with school. While learning about the many events of US history we have been talking about places, Wars, Famous People and Presidents. We recently have learned about Thomas Jefferson and his many talents and love of music to Abraham Lincoln and the Gettysburg Address and the mourning of his assasination. We have learned about the Military and gone on field trips to learn of the great people of our heritage. The kids are having a blast and I am learning so much with them.

Second, Kelby has had the opportunity to become a scout and has had fun going every week and learning new things. He had fun participating in the Space Derby with his troop.

Next, we have our fun trip to St. George over Eatser. We went for the weekend and had a opportunity to spend time with family and celebrate Easter and Morgans 6th Birthday. We had fun playing with Grandpa Scott and Grandma Sherry and Allie. We went and played in the water, made necklaces, had a fun party for Morgan and went to the Arts Festival. We also got to have fun and Aunt Natalie and Uncle Brandons house. The kids had fun with Halle and Taya while coloring eggs, dancing on the Wii, Celebrated Morgans Birthday again and more!

When we got home we ahd a party for Morgan with the rest of the family, with yummy Pinkilicious Cupcakes.

Just last week we had the kids Piano Recital. It was great having them perform a piece for an audience and teaching them not to be afraid to play for a crowd. They did excellent!

We made musical instruments while learning about Thomas Jefferson.

FIELD TRIP TO THE TREEHOUSE

This week we went on a field trip with our friends the Uboldi's to the Tree house Museum. We had never been and it was great! We were there for three hours and did not do everything. The kids had a blast playing at all the different areas. There was a farm with horses to ride, trains, fire truck, dinosaurs, Different cultures from like: Japan, Africa, China, and Germany. An area to play knights, and dress up, and while we were there they got to make a craft and be part of a play about King Arthur. It was great!

FUN FAMILY WEEKEND

Are family went to the TJEd Forum in Salt Lake City. It is a conference for the the Thomas Jefferson Program we are following for Home school. We decided to make it a whole weekend vacation. We got a hotel and planned to hang out. We got there Thursday and just played at the hotel and pool, Friday I went to a class to show me great ideas for teaching and Jon took the kids to play at the zoo, then Saturday as a family we took the kids to the Salt Lake Library and the Planetarium. Saturday night we went to the TJEd Family Ball. Basically a prom for the whole family. it is a huge deal and formal. The kids had a great time meeting new friends, dancing with friends and yes Taylor and Morgan danced with boys and Kelby even got the courage to ask to dance with a girl. It was so cute to watch, and they actually new how to appropriately dance. We all had a great time and it was a much needed family trip.

Taylor met a new friend and is now pen pals with her, she lives in Colorado, and she danced with her friend Josh Slade.

Kelby mostly ran around with Sam and danced with him, he did get the courage to ask a girl to dance, and then asked two others.

Owen had fun dancing alone till he fell asleep.

It was tons of fun and I was impressed to see that the kids were great at dancing with a partner.

SUPER OWEN

Well, we had a quite eventful last week. Our family had been getting over the cold and Owen was still coughing. He coughed so hard it made him throw up. His sugar levels had been high since the middle of the night just before this day. He threw up three more times after that. His sugar did not come down, and he became delirious and sleepy. i tested him again and he was to high to register. we then tested his keytones, which can enter the body when he is sick and his body is not reacting to the insulin. They were super high and we had to get him to the ER. We got there and they had to give him an IV to get him fluids. His keytones and sugar levels were not going back very fast, and they found he was in mild DKA. We ended up staying the night to get him back to normal and had a terrible first day in the hospital, with a terrible blood team. Poor guy was in a lot of pain. We told the doctor we did not want them in his room again. After that we had better nurses and the IV team draw his blood. it was so good to see him finally getting better and coming back to himself.

When we were told we could leave he started jumping and clapping his hands. We got in the car to come home and Owen said to me, "Mommy, Thank no more hurt." I was ready to cry. He is one tough little guy.

GEORGE WASHINGTON

For the past month we have been talking about George Washington. I was only expecting it to take up about a week, but I obviously did not know a lot about him. We were busy having fun and learning so much about him. He was truly a great man. I thought the kids would have been Bord of it faster then they were but they were totally interested.

We began talking about when he was born and through his childhood. he began surveying at the Young age of 16 and was great at it. Taylor loved that he was so young and able to do it well. She wrote her end of unit essay on how she enjoyed the fact that he was interested in the same thing she loves and thinks it would be something she would want to do also.

We moved on to talk about his experience in the military. Washington fought in the French and Indian war. He led English soldiers and colonists against the French to win land. George was a good leader.

He later became the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. Which he led them to victory ending the Revolutionary War.

This is the Commander in Chief flag. The kids made a big one and one for each of them.

George married Martha and adopted her two kids and he never had any of his own. He was elected the first President of the US, even though he did not want to but new they needed a leader. At the time there were the first thirteen colonies. We talked about them and learned about the first flag of the U.S. We mapped out the colonies and colored each one a different color to tell them apart. We learned that the flag had thirteen stars and stripes, they added one for every state but soon had to stop because the flag was getting to big. That is how we got our flag now. They began only adding a star and kept the thirteen stars to represent the thirteen colonies.

We learned that Washington DC was not the first capitol, there were two before then. The White House did not even exist. He never lived in the white house. It was built in Washington after he had died. There are many monuments in his name today.

We have had a lot of fun learning about our country and we hope you enjoy a little of it too!

It is Great to be Eight!

Wow! I can't believe we have two kids old enough to be baptized! Kelby has turned eight years old. He has made many accomplishments this year, and has a lot of change in the process.

This past year he made a competition soccer team, became a goalie and defender, after not wanting too. He found that it is a great position and though he is at a defender position he can still score! He has scored twice in this position, and he has stopped many balls from going into the net.

At the beginning of last year he started piano and has now reached 3 levels higher then he started and he is enjoying learning more difficult songs and playing them well.

He was a big help with his brother, and helping mommy when I needed him during trials with Owens diabetes. He had to be present and watch his baby brother suffer through a granny seizure, but he never faltered and has been there to love and support him.

Last, we ventured into a new step in the families life. Home school. Kelby did not want to do this, but understood when he was told this was what we felt would be best for the family. Now he is excelling, and loving the time at home and activities we do for school.

Kelby we love you so much and we are so proud of you for getting baptized.

One year ago Owen was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. It has been a long journey, and at times very tough. This little guy has been so strong through it all, he truly is blessed from god and he knows this will be his big trial in life, but he will conquer it.

It began with a simple change in his appetite. He began to drink constantly and urinate often. He did not eat as much and grew less happy. I learned from a friend that those are signs of diabetes, however, I did not think it was anything. A few days later we got him in for a routine check up. Figuring this would be a regular well child check, we were in for the biggest surprise of our life. I explained his behavior and how he had been drinking a lot. The doctor tested his blood sugar immediately, came back into the room and said he is most definitely a diabetic. His level was 587, for his age it should be 100-200. She told me I needed to go home and prepare to leave to Primary Children's with in the hour. I did not even know what to say, I think I was in shock. I went home, after talking to Jon, and quietly brought the kids in the house and went up into my room and lost it, it finally hit me. I was crying for a while, trying to get a place for the kids. I could not get a hold of my mom, Jon was on his way home from work, and I had to pack a bag to take my baby to the hospital for a disease that would forever effect his life.

I got the kids taken care of and Jon, I, and Owen loaded in the car and were on our way to the hospital, no clue what we were in for. I must say that I am so grateful for Primary Children's Hospital. They are so amazing. They brought us in and were so cute with Owen. Took us to his room and began right away to care for him and get his sugar levels normal. Jon and I were pushed into a long weekend of classes and learning how to care for Owen. It was a major brain over load.

We learned that Owen would now be on insulin for the remainder of his life. There is no dieting that would help him, he will always need insulin. We would need to learn to count everything he eats and based on what he eats we would have to know how much insulin he would need. Our doctor was amazing and assured us that this was destined to happen to him, and it does not matter how much sugar he has eaten, it was not our fault. Also, it will not matter how much sugar he eats but how many carbs he eats. Which is something I had no clue about.

Owen has been such a little trooper, he is our hero. He has taken this trail in his life and has grown stronger from it. He has never cried at a shot or a poke. He has experienced two siezures, one minor and one granny. I hope no one has to go through that ever! It was the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. He realizes he needs the insulin to feel better and is learning when to let us know when he needs a snack or insulin. He is a typical two year boy, running, playing, sword fighting, teasing, loving and growing. He will hand us his arm for a shot and choose what finger he wants to poke at each meal. He will give you five and pound it after each shot, then say, "I did it!" He is such a joy in our life and has proven that all trials are just a bump in the road. I was worried he would not live a normal life, but I have been assured and seen he will.

Owen Benjamin Talbot, You are our hero. You are strong, courageous, and a great example to your older siblings. We love you!

Week 3- Homeschool- Martin Luther King

This week we learned about Martin Luther King and what he did for the African American people. We talked about a dream he had for his daughter and others daughters To be free and not be judged for the color of there skin. The kids were interested to learn that he and his family went through so much. They memorized his speech, and on one of the days I had them think of there own dream they wanted that would change the world, Just like Dr. King.

Taylor's dream was that she wanted there to be no more drinking and smoking, so that more people would not get killed from these addictions.

Kelby's dream was that people would stop killing animals.

They wrote down there dreams and what they would do to make them happen. Then they presented them to me as if they were doing a speech like Martin did do the people. They did a great job and it was fun hearing the different things they would do for the world.

On another day they did there language lessons and then I had them cut out different shapes and make a picture of there choice for art this week. At first they thought it would be hard to make a picture with just shapes, but once I told them that all pictures are made with shapes they tried it, and had great success. Kelby made a soccer player with rectangles, ovals and circles. Taylor made a butterfly with a flower, using triangles, ovals, circles, and a square. They turned out really cute.

WEEK 2-EXPLORERS

This week we talked about three different explorers. The first one was John Cabot, he was a lot like Columbus and wanted to sail to find the Asian shores as well. He also did not find them but came to North America and was the first to step on land in what is now called, Newfoundland Canada. We learned of the many different voyages he had and about his life as a child. In 1997 a copy was remade of Cabot's ship, the Matthew, and sailed to Newfoundland, Canada.

Second, We talked about Ferdinand Magellan, the first man to lead a voyage around the world. He took five ships:
the Trinidad, Magellan commanded
the San Antonio
the Conception
the Victoria
the Santiago
The journey began on Sept. 20 1519.
Sadly, Magellan never made it completely around the world with his crew. In April, natives attacked his ship and he was killed. They were so close, and the following September, one the ships he lead, the Victoria, returned to Spain and made it completely around the world. They left with 251 men and only 18 survived.

Activities: The kids painted Styrofoam balls like the Earth and put a ship on it as if sailing around the world.

Third, we talked about John Smith. The famous explorer of the legendary story told about Pocahontas. Which they really don't know for sure if the tail is true but it has become a popular story in our history. The tail of John Smith exploring through Virginia and meeting the natives and being almost killed by the Chief Powhatan, but his life was saved when Pocahontas put herself between the Chief and John.

Home School- Week 1- Christopher Columbus

Well, the Talbot family has brought a new adventure into our home. We have recently decided to Home school. Jon and I have been dicussing and praying about this for over a year. Due to some of the ways that education is heading we feel this is the best descision for our family. We want our kids to learn to be leaders and mentors, we want them to learn about our country and capabilities they have in this country. We want to inspire, not require.

This last week was our first week of our new adventure. We will be learning things in units, kind of like semesters. For our first unit we are talking about American History. We first started with the famous explorer Christopher Columbus. Every day we worked our way through his life and what he accomplished. We began with when he was born and what he did with his family and how he became interested in traveling. We then moved to talk about his many travels and his marriage and son, To his great expedition to the america's. We learned about his ship and the many parts of it, and talked about his route by looking at a map.

Later in the week the kids were told to put a skit together in 15 min. of what we talked about for the week. They had a blast, and I had a blast watching them.

Happy Holidays!!

We have had a great holiday season. We had our family Christmas parties the week before Christmas. First, we had the Boulter party. We had yummy food, the kids did the Nativity, we played a white elepahant game and Santa came to visit! Then we had the Talbot party, again yummy food, great talents, and the kids did the nativity there too!

Christmas Eve and Christmas day were fun and relaxing. We did not have a lot of rushing around and we were able to spend time with family and have fun with new gifts. Christmas Eve was spent with Nana and Papa and doing our traditional gingerbread house making, story time and off to bed.

Christmas day we hung out and were lazy, then went to Grandpa and grandma Talbots for fun with cousins.

After Christmas we went to sunny St. George, which unfortunately was not sunny. It snowed a good 3 inches and stuck to the ground and it was freezing!! But we did get to see my grandpa, who recently was injured and is in a rehab center, and see other family as well. It was a great trip.

Last night we had a great New years eve party. We had our friends the Hallows and Carters over and played crazy games and ate way to much food, and made lots of noise at midnight! Happy New Year!!!

Jamie's Dancing Toes Studio had our first dance recital! It went so good! The dancers all did a great job and we had a full house! I was so nervous before the rehearsal and recital I almost threw up, but I am so proud of these girls. We all had a agreat time and look forward to the spring!

FUN NOVEMBER!

This month has been a crazy one, just the rest of the months. It is always crazy and fun at the Talbots! We had an art contest, fun with the weather changing, and family gatherings.

The kids had a great time playing in the first good snow of the year. Owen was so excited and he loved the outfit. He totally reminds me of the Christmas Story. They had fun making snow angels and throwing snow balls. I was just glad it waited to snow till the week of Thanksgiving.

Last month the kids made there reflections art projects, and this month was the assembly. Kelby did a poster drawing and Taylor wrote a song for the piano. Taylor one in her category and played this month at the assembly. Her song has be moved onto sate.

The weekend after Thanksgiving we always put up the Christmas decor. The kids always look forward to it and know it is this weekend.

This year for Halloween, we did alot of stuff and had a lot of fun!

First, We went to the trick or treat activity at the Zoo, with the Uboldi's. Even though it was very crazy and busy, the kids had a great time getting candy and seeing the animals.

The week before Halloween we had an adult game night. We did a murder mystery. It was great fun! I was Dierdre C. Duecer, and Jon was Clavin "Cal" Q. Latuer. Jon was a the KILLER!

This month has been crazy! I will start with the most recent event. Yesterday the girls and I ran our first 5K. It was for the school and the girls really wanted to do it. I personally did not want to, but how could I say no when they say, "Mom it is good for us cause it helps our body and the school!" I am not usually to excited about running, unless for a sport. But I must admit that I had a great time and I am so proud of my girls. They both made it the whole way and in pretty good time. Taylor finished at 32 minutes and Morgan and I finished at 45 minutes. Now we may continue to train together every morning to do another one.

The next activity that took place this month is, our quick trip to St. George. My grandpa has not been in the best of health and my mom was heading down to see him and we decided to go along. Even though the trip was short it was so fun. I love going and spending time with my fam in beautiful Dixie. We stayed and my Uncle Brandon and Aunt Natalie's house, where the kids always have a great time. We went swimming with my grandpa close by and had yummy food and a party for my grandpa's Birthday. We also, got to go spend some time with my dad and step mom and my little sis, Allie. The kids always get excited to go there and spend time with Grandpa and grandma. Then it was time to come home. Like I said a quick trip, but fun.

And last, but not least. Kelby this last summer made the Strikers Competition soccer team. He was super excited and we have recently learned that Kelby is a great defender and Goaly. He is quickly taking after the family. Defender like my sister and uncle, and goaly like mom. At first he was not to pleased at the fact of playing back, cause he wanted to score, but that changed pretty fast when he scored from the defensive position. I love watching him constantly improving and learning new things, he is always out kicking the ball around the yard and getting his punt bigger and better.

FUN CONFERENCE WEEKEND!

We had quite the eventful weekend. We were able to have fun with friends and family all weekend. We even found the time to finally have a family outing, just us, it was a blast!

First, Friday we had the Hagberg kids over. The kids had fun doing art, playing outside, and watching a movie, while mom and dad went out possibly there last time before baby Hagberg comes.

Second, On Saturday we got to spend some much needed time as a family. Jon has had to work a lot this summer and we have not had a lot of time for us. So yesterday we took a hike up Adams Canyon. It was perfect weather, and the kids had so much fun hiking up the trail and walking along the river. We were also able to see the beautiful leaves in there many fall colors, the kids picked some and brought them home. This was something that we decided we want to do a lot more of, enjoying the outdoors.

Third, We had a great girls night while the guys went to priesthood. We did not have as many able to come this year but we still had a great time! The girls that were able to come is My mom, my sister, friend Mandy, and friend Maria. And of course all the kids and two cute baby girls!

Last, we enjoyed awesome conference sessions with family, there were so many great speakers and topics that they covered. I love conference weekend and being close with fam and friends and a message from the Apostles of god.

Well, The basement took awhile to get done. But it was worth it! It is done and we are enjoying it! The kids love the new dance room. They dance almost every day, and dance classes are going great! I have 38 girls taking dance and it has been so fun for me to get back into it. I did not realize what a workout I would be getting, but man! I am going to be in shape again! Thanks to everyone that came and helped!

SCHOOL AND DINOSAURS

Morgan had her first day of school and loved it! She was so excited to go and was a little nervous but warmed up fast. She has a great teacher, she has the softest voice and Morgan loves that she smiles a lot. It has been so weird for mommy being home with one kid and since it is Owens nap time I am left alone. Crazy!

DINOSAURS!

This week we went to the dinosaur park with grandma, The weather ended up being perfect after raining all day. We had not been there in a few years, so the kids were super excited. Owen loved the noises from the dinosaurs and ever since he wakes up saying "roar, roar, mom! Roar!" Over and over. I ask what he wants and he does it again, so I ask, "Do you want to go see the dinosaurs?" He nods. He loved it!

Yep, it is that time of year again. Summer flew by and I was not ready for this school year to begin. But ready or not here we go. Taylor is now in Fourth grade and is considered as the upper grades now. It is crazy how fast she grew! She is going to be in the double digits this year, 10! She loves school and was so excited to wear all her new clothes, and style her new hair cut. She is getting to old! Kelby is in second grade and is also excited for this year of school. He was worried about his class at first cause he did not think he knew anyone, but after the first day he realized he had more friends in his class then he thought. He was also excited for the new clothes and shoes, since he got three pair of shoes and he usually never has that many. He says the girls always get lots of shoes, so he was excited to get lots too.

DIABETIC WALK- WALK FOR A CURE!

This year was our first year participating in the Walk for a Cure, Diabetic walk. The kids had a lot of earning money and walking for Team Owen. We wore our Team Owen Shirts, which unfortunately, were printed wrong so you can't see the print, but it does say Owen's team on the side. There was free Ice cream, blow up rides and lunch. The kids also got there faces painted. We did not do the whole walk but enough to get the kids excited and to be a part of it. It was also a great opportunity for us to meet other families with Diabetes. We met a family that had a son diagnosed at 16 months and a year later was able to get a pump, Crazy!

We appreciate all that could come and support our little Super Hero, Owen. We will be making this a annual thing and would love to have a huge team for Owen next year! Thanks for all your love and support.

I have been wanting to get these pictures up for a long time, but since we have been crazy busy all summer it is happening now. Which actually has made the pictures better since everything bloomed late this year. My Aunt Natalie came at the beginning of the summer and helped me get a good start and I have enjoyed being in the yard ever since. It has been so fun learning how to care for everything and learning about each plant. I love the way my yard turned out and now I know what I want for next year as well.

Well, school is coming and since I was taking Owen's two year pics I decided to do all the kids at the same time. Makes it easier to do only one picture day. The kids had a lot of fun choosing fun spots and choosing some of the poses. And since I caught them all in good moods and the fact that they just love the camera it was an easy task to get good pictures. I had a lot of fun taking them and more fun laughing after, when I looked at them. Choosing a photo however, is a bit difficult. Maybe you all can help with some of the decision.

NIGHT AT THE MOVIES!!

Last night we had the chance to take the kids to the drive-in, they were so excited that they were going to watch a movie outside in the car! We went to see Toy Story and The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Both great movies. It was so fun to see Owen get so excited about Buzz and Woody on the big screen, and the kids had a blast laying in the bed in the back of the Durango. Plus, we got to bring all our own snacks and drinks and it is way cheaper then the theaters and you get to see two movies! Both Jon and I are wondering why we have not done this sooner. It was a blast!!

Owen is now a toddler, two! We love our little guy, he has been so much fun! He is starting to talk a ton, finally. I thought he was going to grow up as a cave man. He is now starting to repeat what you say, and he shows hand action, his own sign language which is hilarious. He says, "Pawease", "dop"(stop), "dad", "mom", "No", "Nope", and started to say "Nana". with other small words here and there. And we know now to watch what we say, Jon said in frustration the other night, "What the crap!" Owen, "a duh tap!"

He has his own personality and is super stubborn! If he does not want to he won't. He loves the camera and will always give a cheesy grin. He is obsessed with Buzz and Woody, and loves cars, swords, and wrestling with his brother. Even though he is two he is still my baby. He will cuddle up to my arm at night, in the swaddled position in my arms and go to sleep. My little cuddle bug!

Taylor had her first big slumber party this weekend. She made invitations early in the week and invited a few friends and her cousin. We got fun activities and games to do and yummy snacks. It was fun playing games with them and watching them do makeovers, a fashion show, and then a make under. We played many games that I used to play at my slumber parties and they made friendship bracelets. Giggly girls, eating snacks till almost midnight!!

For girls camp our theme was the Amazing race! We had different opsticals for the girls to do to pass off things to win stamps on there pass port. At first things were going down with camp, since our President came down with Mono, we had to relocate a week before going and the boat did not work, so no boating day. But the lord knows what is best for us cause we had a blast and it all worked out! We went to Echo Lake all our activities worked out great there we had a great camp site for our tents and we had water day everyday! The girls had one of the best times at camp in a long time, words from the girls. And I enjoyed every minute of getting to know the girls and work with the awesome leaders in our group! We really have a amazing group of young womens!

This year we went to the Kaysville celebration again, we love the small town feel and the fact that everything is free! We had fun at the carnival, parade, then bowling, and back to the fire works! Our friends joined us this year, the Hagbergs, and for the fire works the Uboldis met up with us. The kids had a great time catching candy and toys at the parade, and loved running around from blowup toy to another. The weather was perfect, not to hot or to cold.

This past week the kids have had a lot of fun with the cousins! We went to Lagoon Monday and all most all the cousins were there. They all had a blast going on all the rides together. It was crazy how many of them were big enough to go on all the rides! They have all grown so fast. Owen loved the rides and would cry, just like Taylor did, when the ride was over. He is a little dare devil! He loved even Puff the roller coaster. Thanks Grandma Talbot for a fun day!!

After Lagoon we got to have the Talbot Family come stay and play with us! They have been here since Tuesday and it is so fun to see the kids just pick up there friendships and way of playing from when we used to see each other every day! They have all been playing great and having fun. We went swimming, late night bowling, and played outside. I have enjoyed my usual late nights with Camie, just talking about anything and everything. And I have also enjoyed being with my little nieces and nephews. I love listening to Eli's little voice and Ivan and Morgan still playing and fighting at the same time, and of course we had to have the girls put on a show for us.

All in all it has been a great week!

FUN LITTLE BOY!

Owen has developed such a fun personnality. He is our little tease, and he loves the camera. He does not say much but his actions are hilarious! For example: Owen comes to me crying, I ask what is wrong and he begins telling me, through cave man speach. He points to himself, then swings his armm and then points to Morgan, all the while grunting noises with each movement. I then ask him if Morgan hit him, and he nods yes. He apparently does not think he needs to talk. However, he has finally began too talk and communicate. This we he started saying "Love you" by saying "Lala". And he will say snack and point at the fridge, you then have to figure out what he wants, trial and error. We are coming up on our little guys 2 year Birthday! I can't believe he is going to be two!! He loves to sword fight, play with horses and cars and loves Buzz and Woody from Toy Story. He is not scared of anything, and has given me heart attacks more then once. He loves to jump and fly through the air, from the top of the stairs or on the couch, he jumps to me but does not get my attention first, wild thing! He also loves to be with daddy, whether helping or tackling him. We love our little Owen!!

FUN BACKYARD!

We have been wanting to have a kid friendly backyard since we have been married and we are finally getting it! We have a swing set, sand box, playhouses, big patio for basketball, and a new addittion this week, a trampoline! Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Talbot, who just tired of moving it, brought it to our house for the kids to enjoy. The kids had no idea it was coming and they were so excited when they found out. Yesterday was the first full day they had outside in a long time and they spent most of it on the tramp. They jumped with tricks, balls, played games and had the sprinklers with it. They had a blast! Taylor said, "Now we have everything you could want in a backyard!" Mission accomplished. Now if my kids come in saying they are bord this summer I will reming them of all the things that are in the yard, or they can pull weeds. :)

SUMMER KICK OFF!!

Well, everyone knows how much I love summer! So naturally we had to have a schools out BBQ to celebrate summer!! I love having friends and family over all day and night and not having to wake up early, and having no school so the kids have to be to bed early. No more school schedule, now it is my schedule!

So we had some friends over for yummy food, conversation, some water balloon volley ball, and crazy hard mind puzzles. I only got 1 out 6, Sara got them all(smarty). It was a great night of fun. We had the Hagbergs, Slades, Hansens, and Uboldis over. Thanks for helping us kick off summer! Now lets just hope the summer weather will stick around.

MORGANS DANCE RECITAL

Last night we went to Morgans last dance recital with her dance company she has been with now for two years. It has been great and the cutest dances. She did tap to the Boogie Woogie Piggy, and Ballet to Little Miss Muffet. I love watching the little preschool kids up there smiling and doing there best to get the steps right and waving at mom and dad at the same time. She has improved tremendously, and new all the steps! She will now move up to the kinder class at mommies new studio here at home! We are both excited for that, no more immodest costumes and no more fees! It has been so fun for us to watch her dance and sing on stage, can't wait for more to come!!

Morgan is now 5! She was so excited to be 5 and to be big! Now she is ready for school, she says. She said, "Now I am 5 so my back pack will not be heavy."

It is so crazy that she will be in school next year. It seems like she was just born. She came to us after 12 hours of labour, weighing 6 lb 14 oz, and was 18 in. She has always had a fun personnality and is a joy. She loves to smile and laugh. She loves dancing, singing, and dressing up. She is a big help at home, from baking bread with mommy to playing and making her baby brother laugh. She never fales to make mommy laugh with her random quotes of the day; for example: "Mommy did you know that a girl climbed a mountain and fell and got hurt?....Did you know you can eat a brownie with a fork or your fingers?" or "Mommy you are older then daddy but he is bigger..." Whispering, "but you are going to die before him." She has been the hardest to discipline, only because you are laughing so hard you can't. She learned early on what teasing is and loves to do it, mostly to her brother. She has always been good at making friends and loves to play with them whenever she can. She loves to learn and is already reading small word books, even if she rushes through the words hoping she got it right. "J-J-J-little?"

Spring Fun!!

Well, we went from snowman weather, to beautiful sunny weather with in a couple weeks. We have been getting our yard ready for the summer and the first thing on our list was the sand box. Why? What better way to keep the kids busy while I do the yard and pull weed. And since they love playing in the sand, even Owen, I figured that the kids area was the best place to start.

We moved the swing set into the dirt area and planted it into the dirt so it no longer tips and the kids can swing as high as they want. Behind there is where we put the sandbox, and next to that is the big play slide and playhouses. If my kids get board, it is there own dang fault!

I am so excited to get our yard done and have it a place to gather with friends and family. My Aunt Natalie is coming to help with the flower beds so I will get pics of that later. I can't wait for summer!!!

Spring Snowman

The kids are out of school all week for spring break, and yes it snowed. Not just a light flurry, it was a few inches. Enough to go out and build a snowman, and that is exactly what they did. Yesterday my kids all went out and built a spring snowman. Well, they did not do one in the winter so I guess a spring snowman works. However, no one should be building a snowman on April 6! It is spring for cryin out loud! Although the kids had a blast and now the snow is gone, the crazy weather you see while living in Utah.

Easter Weekend

We had quite the busy weekend with friends and family. It was filled with Easter fun and enjoying Conference. We got to have many visitors over for coloring eggs, Easter egg hunting, watching conference, laughing and talking, and eating a lot of good food.

First my sister and her hubby came Friday night and stayed over, then Saturday, friends Mandy and Troy came for Conference and Easter. Morgan was so excited to see Troy and was attached to his side from the moment they arrived. Saturday we enjoyed conference and being lazy. Between the first session we had a BBQ, then colored eggs.

Later that day we had more friends and family come to play and join in an Easter egg hunt. Luckily the weather held up for us for a minute to have it outside. The Hagberg's, the Meredith's, the Grays, the Horton's, and the Todd's came. It was a party! The kids had a great time looking through the yard for 218 eggs.

Early Easter morning we came down stairs and found that the Easter bunny had come to visit us! He left lots of fun and yummy treats. He also hid our eggs! The kids looked through there baskets and enjoyed a couple early morning snacks then were off to find the eggs.

We normally go to St. George for Easter and we missed it greatly. Especially the great weather. However, we were blessed with such great family and friends that it was a great Easter! Thanks everyone that came to play!

MEXICAN RIVIERA-FUN, FUN, FUN!

We went on the Carnival Splendor, through the Mexican Riviera. On a seven day cruise. We stopped at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. My Uncle Brandon and Aunt Natalie came with us and it was one of the best vacations I have ever had. This was the longest we have ever been away from our kids and we were nervous but excited to leave them and go for the first time on our own vacation. It was so amazing to see this huge hotel on water. At first I questioned if it could really float. We entered the ship and my eyes were huge, it was so amazing. After getting out on the ocean, I realized that this was going to be a great week of new adventures. I was nervous to do this whole vacation to begin with because I have a slight fear of the ocean, or at least what lives in it. However, the ocean was so beautiful and the experiences we had would change all that. And the being waited on and cleaned up after was great! And Jon's favorite part, all you can eat!

Before we went snorkeling we went whale watching and saw whales only 20 feet from our small fishing boat. Talk about nerves flying, I got a little sick out on the boat because I got so scared to go out in the middle of the ocean in a tiny boat near whales that could dump us. But it was so fun!

We went on a Zip line tour 500 ft over the jungle in Puerto Vallarta. It was so fun flying through the trees and even got to go upside down!

We had such a great time throughout the seven days on our cruise, we enjoyed spending time on the ship and at shore. We tried new things and food, we got a bit sunburned and salt water in our eyes, totally worth it. We definitely want to go again!

Decorating Fun!!

I have always wanted to do something fun in the girls bedroom and have slowly been buying things i wanted in there room. I had a vision of what I wanted to do and thanks to my sister'n'law I got it finished yesterday! She came and help paint the room this beautiful lime green and then I hung up the decorations with there new bedspreads, and it looks sooo good! My girls finally have the room I have wanted to give them forever, and they love it! Decorating and redecorating is so fun.

Yesterday for Presidents day we had some fun enjoying our day off. Even Jon had it off, so we went to the Bountiful pool. We had some free passes to go there and the kids were so excited. The kids love going here and playing on the toys and the big water slide. Owen was nervous at first, but by the end he was jumping in from the side of the pool, he was loving it so much I could not get him to stand before he was turning to jump back into the water. All of my kids are fish! They love to swim and jump in the water.

After we swam we ran to catch a movie at the dollar theatre, The Frog Princess, but it was sold out, so instead we went home and watched our own movie and the kids made it like a theater, with treats and tickets. Nana and Papa also came. It was fun and we saved money!

SLEDDING

A couple of weeks ago we went sledding with our friends the Hallows and Jons sister Tara and her boys. The kids had fun getting pushed down the hill from Jon Hallows, and went flying over the jump on the hill. I could not believe how fast they were going and they were laughing there heads off! They were not scared at all and would ask to go faster and faster. The kids were having so much fun that we stayed till it was almost dark.

TEN YEARS OF FUN!!

Ten years ago on January 29, 2000, two people took there vows to be together for ever! Yep, it was our ten year anniversary yesterday. It went by fast and we have been through alot! Within ten years we have moved about 15 times, 5 of those are homes we have owned, we have had 4 beautiful children, Taylor age 9, Kelby age 7, Morgan age 4, and Owen age 1. We have been to nine different temples in Utah and the Vegas temple. We have fun with friends and family and we both have loved being parents.

Through out the years we have had trials and luxuries, and we have enjoyed the many places we have gone alone and as a family. We are excited for the next ten years! It has been the best ten years of our lives!

Our second anniversary we went to Vegas, we had fun in all the shops and watching shows.

While we were in Vegas we attended the Las Vegas Temple, it was amazing!

Crazy Weekend!!

On Friday, the 22nd Owen had a doctors appointment for his 18 months check. The past couple weeks he has been extremely thirsty and urinating constantly. So I figured I would ask just to be sure it was nothing, well come to find out that is a sign of a diabetic. They tested his blood sugar and it should be around 100-200, his was at 587. So the doctor came back and started to apologize, and said that she is confident that he has Type 1 Diabetes. It was a total shock, go for a well child check that is not so well. I think I was in a bit of shock since I could say was "uh-huh" over and over to her. The doctor said I needed to go home pack a bag and head to Primary's with in the hour. So I did just that, called Jon and someone to take the kids and headed to the hospital for a long weekend.

While at the hospital we were cramming our brains to learn all we would need to know to care for Owen. And he was getting his insulin to level out his blood sugar, and trying to figure out how much and how often he would need it. It was crazy how much info there was. But I went in not knowing really anything about it, to coming home with a great knowledge of what this disease contains.

Type 1 Diabetes is nothing what I thought it was. He did not get it because he ate to much sugar or because he did not eat healthy, his body was bound to get it no matter what. We can't even say that it was genetic cause we don't know of anyone in the family who has had it. It can be passed genetically, or environmentally. But there is no way to prevent Type 1 Diabetes. With type 1 his body is not providing the insulin any more. He is still able to eat anything he wants, we just need to account for everything he eats. We have to count every carb so we know how much insulin to give him. He will always need insulin and therefore we should not take any of his carbs away. The doctor said to never use the excuse that he can't do something because he is diabetic, he is still living a normal life, he just needs to know what he eats and how many carbs. And since carbs are brain building we don't want to take them away. It was such a relief to know that he is not restricted to a diet. He will have shots 3-4 times a day and will have his blood sugar checked 4 times a day. I thought it would be so much harder then it has been, but he has been such a trooper and not even crying at the shots that it has made it so much easier. He has been so strong and has made me feel much better about the situation. I was in shock at first and crying over it and very stressed, but thankfully he is doing great and teaching me that this trial in our lives is one we can overcome. He is so happy now and back to my little boy.

So we had a crazy weekend and Owen did not just get diabetes the whole family did and as a family we are working together to manage it. If there are any questions please feel free to ask, it helps us to learn and remember more the more we talk about it.

Girls Night!!

Last night Taylor had a girls night with her two best friends Jaylee and Grace. They played the Wii, board games, designed dresses, and had treats with a movie. The girls stayed the night and played some more in the moring! It was fun to see her with her friends playing and being silly, it made me remember when I was a girl with my friends.

Morgan and Kelby also had friends over for a late night, they had fun playing games and the boys were wild wrestling, and teasing the girls. It was a fun, yet crazy night!

On New Years we had a game night at our house with friends and family, it was a BLAST! We had tons of yummy food and had a great time playing games and laughing. We had our friends the Berglunds, the Todds, and the Cowgills, and our family Nana and Papa and the Horton's. The kids all ran around and played in the toy room, while the adults played games and stuffed there faces. We all stayed up for the New Year, and past then, even the kids made it that long. After they all left the Horton's(Tara and Jim) Jon's sister, stayed the night so we broke out the wii. It was way late but it was fun. We woke up the next morning and we even got Tara and Jim to try the wii. Some of the games make you look pretty funny so we were laughing pretty hard.

On New Years day we went to our friends the Hallows for an awsome night at the Oscars! (a movie night). It was so fun, the girls dressed up in movie star clothes and they had a red carpet layed out and decorations. As we pulled up they all screamed when Taylor and Morgan got out of the car like they were movie stars, well that night they were, the movie we watch was the one we all had an appearance in. And they all went home with an Oscar. The hallows did a great job and making it a big night, Thanks!!

Well, Christmas is over and we are coming to the end of 2009. We have had a great year of fun and experiences. We moved into a new house, but we were able to stay in the same ward and the same school! We were all glad for the change of address.

Jon is still working for Bountiful Bowl and staying hip and young with the youth he works with there and in his calling at church with the Teachers as the Varsity Scout coach. Both of which he loves doing. He is also busy as a dad, playing chess with Kelby, reading or cars with Owen and taking the girls on fun dates. His goal for the year 2010 is to get in shape and manage his time better.

Jamie is still busy with the chitlins, at home and at school. She learned to make homemade bread that bakes in an hour, and loves it! And the kids love to help. She has been busy as the PTA Pres. Elect, and having fun being involved with the school and all the students. She was in the scouting program for the first part of the year and enjoyed learning how it works, and has recently been called to a Beehive advisor which she is thrilled about! Goal for 2010 is to not spread herself to thin.

Taylor has had a very exciting year! She was able to attend the same school for the second year and not have to switch schools again. She has read over ten books this year which includes some of the Harry Potter series, she is on book five. She is our little book worm. She is doing great in school and loves every minute of it. She has great friends and loves to have reading parties with them.

Kelby is also having a great year in school and is doing great as well. He loves to read and is excited to be reading all sorts of chapter books. He loves Reddy Freddy, Magic Tree House, and The Knights of Right series. He also wants to begin the Harry Potter series. He loves to play outside with his friends, which now live with in walking distance, and he loves spending time with his dad.

Morgan is our little Diva, she loves to play dress up and do her hair and make up. She has had a fun year doing her Pre-school at home and learning her alphabet and numbers. She gets so excited to do school work, she loves to do patterns and matching and loves to spell three letter words. CAT, HAT, DOG, etc. She has fun baking bread with mom and playing with Owen when the kids are at school.

Owen is our busy boy, he loves to run and play. He loves books and would sit with you and have you read to him all day. He loves buttons and animals and has recently become very interested in Elmo. He is starting to talk and say a few words, but is still OK just pointing at what he wants and knows that he does not have to talk cause his siblings do it for him. He says; dog, mom, dad, woe, more, and up. He loves to smile and if he sees the camera he will be the first to smile a very cheesy smile.

We are excited for the up coming year and hope that you have a great year as well.

Christmas 09!

Christmas was great this year! We started out at Grandma Talbots for a visit and the kids played then got there traditional Hot chocolate and toast. After visiting for a couple hours we headed to my moms for our christmas eve party and had a great ham dinner with all the trimmings, followed by gingerbread house making, then the kids sang a song, then we did the nativity with puppets. After that we decided it was time to settle down, the kids got to open one gift which was jammies, then we all sat down and Nana read the kids a christmas story, this is a new tradition she started last year where she reads the book then gives it to the kids, lots of fun. Then we watched Santa Clause is coming to town. It was a great night!

Then we went home and got ready for bed and put out the cookies and milk for Santa. Brittany and Christian came to stay with us again this year, so they can wake up with the kids. It was so fun having them and my mom came over early as well, to see if Santa came and to open gifts. We had our traditional breakfast together and just hung out all day, and played with the wii, the gift Santa brought us!

Later, Grandma and grandpa Talbot stopped by for a visit. The kids opened there gift and we talked for a bit. Then we got ready to go to the Smith family party and had fun eating and laughing at the white elephant game. It was fun seeing so much of the family.

Great Weekend Fun!

This weekend we had the boulter Christmas party, and the whole family was able to make it! It was so fun to have our family back together for Christmas. We started the night out by decorating gingerbread cookies (really yummy ones, thanks Shara), then had a yummy dinner, then we had a kids white elephant game and an adult white elephant game, the kids had a blast with the left, right poem, and the adults were laughing like crazy during our game. Later we had the kids dress up and perform the Nativity, one of my favorite parts, they were so excited to do it. And all through the party we just mingled and laughed and had a great time! I love Christmas!

The next, Saturday, Morgan had her dance recital. She did a great job. She new the whole dance and was center stage, so the whole class had there eyes on her. It is great to see how much she has grown in dance, last year she got nervous and did not do all the dance. This year she was smiling huge and danced the whole thing. It was so great! And yes I cried she was so stinkin cute I couldn't help thinking that is my adorable child up there.

This year for Taylors birthday she wanted to go ice skating, we did not tell her we were going until the night before cause we did not know if we could for sure. But Jon got some free passes from work to go so we did and she was so excited! In fact after we skated she said, "This is the best birthday I have ever had!" So it turned out great! And the kids were surprisingly good. She invited some friends so it ended up being a big girls night aside from daddy, and brothers Kelby and Owen. She invited her friends Gracie and Jaylee, and her sisters Kambrie and Hadley, and Taylors cousin Lexi came with her mom Shara. At first all the kids were nervous and held onto the wall but by the end of the night they were all skating through the middle of the rink laughing. They fell a couple times but would just jump up and go again. Best birthday ever...accomplished.

We went to the Festival of trees last night for the first time in 6 years. It was alot of fun seeing all the fun trees, like the BYU tree, GO Cougars! And the Star wars tree with all the characters. The kids really loved the Gingerbread houses. There was a house with balloons coming out of the chimney and it was the house from the movie UP. There was also a huge castle that you can see in this photo.

Well I know this is kinda late but we have been pretty busy. Anyway, thie Thanksgiving was great, the kids and I went with the Talbot family at Jons moms house this year and almost the whole family was there. It was so fun for the kids to play with cousins and I enjoyed talking with everyone. I unfortunatly forgot to take pictures, but just imagine a room with three tables set up and 14 grandkids running around. Grandmas house was hop'in! We had a great feast with all the trimmings, we all got very full.

The next day I was one of the crazy people out shopping in the mobs of people. I went with my mom at midnight and did not get home till after seven. Crazy I know!

Busy, Busy!

We have been so busy and I have not done a new post so I have a lot to talk about. In the past couple weeks we went to the zoo to see the baby elephant, so cute, and we also got to see the other babies at the zoo as well. It is a baby haven there. There was a giraffe, tigers, a crocodile, a monkey, and of course the elephant. The kids had a lot of fun and Owen loved seeing all the animals.

Then, we got a call from the reflections coordinator to tell us that Taylor had won in the 3D category. We were so excited for her. We went to the assembly to watch her receive her medal and we did not tell her that she had won, so when they did not announce her name as a contestant she got the biggest eyes cause she new she had won a medal. She did a great job and we are so proud of her, now they have sent it to state so we will see!

Morgan got to go on a date with her daddy to see the princesses on ice. We didn't tell her until that morning and when we did she was so excited that she ran up to Jon and hugged him and said "Thank you, thank you!" It was adorable. Then we had to decide what princess dress she was going to wear, and she was so excited that she kept asking all day if it was time to go. Maybe next time we will tell her right before they need to leave.

Having happy kids is the best when you need happy pictures. I am so glad my kids like the camera. I went and took there school pictures this week over at the park. It was so pretty with all the fall colors, and scenery. I don't care to much for the school pictures done at school, they are expensive and they don't try to get the best smile from the kids, if the kids is smiling weird and eyes shut it seems that they just take it to get it done. It is so nice to have a camera that I can do it myself. The kids had fun doing it plus they got to play at the park after. So these are Taylor and Kelby's school pictures and I do Morgans at the same time. And Owen already had his one year pictures done so we just had fun with him cause he kept smiling with the other kids.

We went to St. George this year for Halloween, it was so nice to have warm weather!! While we were there we stayed at my uncle and aunts house, Brandon and Natalie, and had a great time. We went trick-or-treating at the High school on Friday and the night the girls went to "Thriller", it was awesome!! We had fun carving pumpkins, playing outside in the nice warm weather, trick-or-treating, and visiting with family.

We were able to visit my grandparents and also my dad and his fam. It was so fun to see them after so long. The kids got to go trick-or-treating with little Allie and had alot of fun playing with her at her house. It was a great weekend.

The kids are now done with soccer and they had a great season! Jon and I had a good time coaching but are also glad for the season to be over. Coaching three teams was tough! Taylor was on the blue and pink team and her team chose "Bubble Gum" for there team name. Kelby was yellow and black and were called "Thunder". And Morgan was on the white and red team and they chose to be the "Hot Tamales". It was a lot of fun!!

Halloween Time!

First we went last weekend to a costume party in Layton that was free for the kids to play games, get there face painted, get candy and go through a haunted house. We went there with our friend the Berglunds and there kids Dallin and Jeremy, and friends Cody and Kinsee. Then on Monday we went to the school Halloween parade and the kids paraded around the school in there costumes and then had refreshments. And now we are getting ready to have there class parties tomorrow and then off to St. George for more Halloween fun! And hopefully for warm weather. So more to come after Halloween!

Creative Fun

Taylor wanted to enter in to the reflections contest at school, which is an art contest, and she knew exactly what she wanted to do. The theme this year is "Beauty is...." and she said that the first thing she thought of when she heard the word beauty was the planets. So this is what she did all by herself. She did a great job!

Morgan helped mommy make bread again today, every time I make bread she always wants to help. She puts on her apron like mommy and wants to do all that I do.

It has been fun having time with Mo Mo while the kids are at school, and Owen is a sleep and I think she likes it too.

This month for our adult game night, with our friends the Hallows, Carters, and Todds. We had a costume party. It was so fun to see what everyone came as. FALL!!

We have been enjoying the fun fall weather, even though it seems to be getting colder and colder we have found small pockets of good weather and made the best of it.

The kids are all playing soccer this year, and it has been so fun to be a soccer mom full time! Jon and I coach for all the kids, he coaches Kelby's team and I coach Morgan and Taylor. They all wanted to play when we were signing up Kelby so we said ok lets do this!! Yes we must be crazy to have decided to coach all teams cause now we live soccer. Our Saturday morning is soccer, soccer, soccer!! It has been a lot of fun to see them grow and learn how to move the ball down the field. Morgans age group is the funniest to watch just a bunch of kids all going for the ball and even taking it away from there own players, but they are learning how to get it in the goal. Kelby is in a more advanced age this year and they are starting positions and they have Refs, so they get called on things that are illegal in the game so they are learning more of the rules. Taylor is in the age where the rules are full force no letting them go and learn any more. They have goalys at this age and have to know all the rules of the game. They all are loving it and having a blast, and so are Jon and I. Pictures still to come.

Another fall activity we did is went to the Crazy T Ranch, Jon's parents property, It was a little cold but Jon was able to help his dad with the cabin and the kids had fun running all over the property. On the way home we stopped on the side of the road in Parleys to canyon to enjoy the fall colors. There were so many beautiful colors on the trees, the kids had fun finding leaves of orange, pink, and yellow.

Yesterday we took the kids to J & J Nursery to pick a free pumpkin with our friends the Hagburgs, we got to go on a hay ride to the pumpkin patch then the kids got to pick whatever pumpkin they wanted. The kids were amazed at how many pumpkins there were.

This last weekend we had fun with the Boulter clan. We got together with everyone for family pics on Saturday and after we all went to Liberty park for dinner. Also that night the boys went out for a boys night to a movie and girls all came to hang at my house. The kids had fun playing while the mommies had fun talking. It was so much fun being together with the entire family, that has not happened for a long time. Then on Sunday we got together again for Trevors homecoming, which he did a great talk!!

School has started and the kids are loving there teacher and class, they have both made new friend and also see old friends as well. Taylor was so excited to be going to the same school twice and not going somewhere else. Kelby is now a 1st grader and goes all day and he was so excited he didn't even want me to walk him in. Taylor is now in 3rd and as usual was excited for class.

The kids had the chance to spend some time this past weekend and week with some cousins from the Talbot side. Camie and her kids came to visit and play for a couple days, and we have not spent any time with them all summer so the kids were way excited. While they were here the kids played in the pool and many fun games. Also while they were here Camie and I got to have our late night talks together like we used to. It was so fun to have them.

Then we had Portland and Memphis up for a couple of days too. They came and slept over for two nights and the kids were having so much fun with them they were sad when it came time for them to go. While they were here the kids played outside with scooters, the pool and we went to the park.

KEEPING BUSY

This last week while Jon was at scout camp we were doing all we could to keep busy to help us not to miss him as much. We had a lot of fun with friends and family. We went and played at my cousin Sharas house and the kids played in the water, we went to the zoo with our friends the Hallows, my sister came and played with us for a few days, and Taylor had Achievment Days, day camp at Camp Kiesel. It was alot of fun and even though we were so busy we all still missed Jon a lot! I could not be a military wife, I am not strong enough, plus I like having my hubby around.

MINI VACATIONS!!

LAGOON!!

Two weeks ago we had a couple of mini vacations, well that is what we called it. We got some discount passes to go to Lagoon, so we took the kids and had a family day. It was a lot of fun just doing our own thing and taking the kids on the rides big and small, yep Taylor and Kelby are now big enough for the roller coasters! And they loved them! They both went on Wicked and have both decided it is there favorite ride. They also went on the wild mouse, Spider, White roller coaster, and the Bat. And Taylor went on both Rockets and the Jet Star. It is great that she loves the rides cause so do I and Jon gets a little sick so now I can go with her! Morgan had fun on the kiddie rides and her favorite is the Dino Drop, She wanted to just stay there. She got excited when Owen could go on a couple of the rides with her. It was a great and well needed family vacation.

That Saturday we went to the Echo lake with my family. It was so fun, for the first time in a long time we had alot of my moms family together at the lake. There was my mom and Jeff of course, then Grandpa B, Aunt Linda and Uncle Frank, Shara, Brenda, Lexi, Cody, Brittany, and Shannon, Jon, Taylor, Kelby, Morgan, Owen, Me It was a perfect day to ski, wake board, tube, and ride the water banana. We all had a great time!

This is actually really funny. My kids have never seen an Ice Cream truck come down the road. So when I told them they could buy ice cream if they want they were so excited to buy it from the Ice Cream man, right in front of our house. So of course I had to get a picture of there first time and probably the last, they were $2.00 each!

Owen had a Birthday! It is crazy to think that he is now one, walking and starting to talk like crazy! It feels like he just joined our family, but it has been a year. It has been a good one to0. He came in strong being the only one out of all our kids to put me into labor on my own! 14 hours later Owen Benjamin Talbot was born on July 21 2008, and has been a blessing of joy ever since!

Owen has a great sense of humor and loves to tease and laugh. He also loves to cuddle and give kisses. He has always been a mamas boy, and now is a daddy and a Papas boy as well. Owen loves cars and trucks, and the outside. If he sees the door open he runs as fast as he can to get out before it closes. Something funny about Owen is that he is scared of the vacuum but loves the lawn mower! We love our little dude.

Taylor was in music camp this summer and they did songs from Hairspray, and they did there own version of Robyn Hood, "Rockin Robyn Hood". She did such a great job up on stage and she had a great time performing. She is meant to be on a stage!

THE CRAZY T RANCH

Jon's parents own some property in Duchesne, it has been about 3 years since we have been there, and we just went this weekend so Jon could help his dad with the cabin they are building. I was a little leery about going with a baby in the heat but it was not as bad as I thought it would be. First, they have a new trailer up there that we stayed in so we did not need a tent. And the weather was perfect, cloud cover and a light breeze, with a little rain. The kids had fun on all the stuff they have now that they did not have before when we went, like a playground, kid four wheelers, and a flushable toilet! OK that is more for me. But Jon was glad to help his dad and I had fun watching the kids play in the dirt, even Owen had a blast. And they were way dirty! But they had hot water so we were able to bath them before we came home. All in all it was a good weekend and fun time away. Thanks mom and dad.

This is going to be a long one! We have been very busy and having a lot of fun!!

A couple weeks ago we went to the Davis Rec. Center in Bountiful and went swimming it is alot like the Lehi pool and has a lot of slides and fun for the kids, this one has a fun outdoor pool with slides coming out of a Pirate ship! The kids love it. And since we got free passes to go it made it even better! However, it is farely cheap so we will definetly be going back!

On the 11th of this month we went to the Shapiro cousin reunion in Midvale. This is Jon's moms side of the family. It was alot of fun to see family we don't see very often, and Aunt Tara was face painting, so of course the kids all got it done and looked amazing! Morgan got a butterfly, Taylor a snake and a mask, and Kelby a super hero.

This past week my sister came up to play and stay at the house, the kids love to have her for sleepovers. While she was here we played soccer the first night, then went to the park the next day and that night my mom took us to get Pedicures. I had never had one and it was great!!

HAPPY 4TH!!

This year for the 4th we started a new tradition. We have heard that the Kaysville festvities were alot of fun and not to busy. So we decided to try it out this year and now we have a new tradition for the 4th. It starts early with breakfast, then a 5K race then the carnival opens at ten and the parade starts at eleven. We got over to get a spot for the parade at nine then went over to the carnival and walked through the booths they had and they had blowup rides that started at ten so we figure we do them before the parade and before it got to busy. We went over to go on them but could not find where to buy tickets and when we asked where to get them we found out that it was free!! FREE!! The kids got to do everything and it was all free. Then we watch the parade and got tons of candy, toys, and gift cards. The kids were having so much fun.

After the parade we met up with my mom and Jeff and went to Bountiful Bowl and had fun bowling and since they our closed on the 4th we had the whole building to our selves, so us, my mom, Jeff, and Cody, ordered pizza and bowled for a couple hours.

To end the day off we headed back to the park to get a place for the fireworks, after we were settled in a good spot the kids had fun earning some money. Earlier that day I went to Dollar Tree and got lots of glow sticks and the kids ran around selling them for $1. With bowling passes, they were having so much fun doing it when they were out they wanted to do more, so they went around just giving out free bowling, then after we went back to the rides to play again before the fireworks started.

This week we went to the Lehi pool with Aunt Brittany, Uncle Christian, Meghann and her boys, Carter and Gunner and friend Danny, and had a blast!! The kids have been asking all year to go and we finally planned a day and went. They have water slides for all ages, even for Owen! He loved the water and did not want to stop going on the slides in the kiddie pool. Taylor and Kelby are big enough now to go on the big water slide alone and they went on it to many times to count. We all had a great time.

That night we went to Brittany and Christians house to sleep over and we did sparklers that night and went to breakfast at IHOP in the morning and then to the park, and then back to hang out with them again at there house. The kids were having so much fun it was hard getting them ready to leave and they kept asking when they get to go without mommy and daddy for there own sleepover, I feel so loved. It was really fun to just take a brake from life and have some good fun. Thanks Aunt Brittany and Uncle Christian.

LAGOON!!

We were able to attend the Talbot grandkid Lagoon day this year, the first time in two years! The kids had a great time playing with some of there cousins and with Grandma Talbot. Some of the cousins were unable to make it and were missed! So all of you that didn't come we hope to see you there next year. Thanks Grandma for a fun day!

FIRST WEEK OF SUMMER!!

St. George

We decided to break into summer with a great vacation to one of our favorite places to visit some of our favorite people. We had a blast staying at the Boulter Hotel, and hanging out with them for a week! We love to see Brandon, Nat and the girls Halle and Taya. And we also got to see Ty, Steph, Macky and cute little Sophie. We played and had so much fun in the great weather! We even got to go on Brandon and Nats boat and it ran great! The kids all had a blast playing with Macky and Halle, and Owen and Taya were so fun together.

While we were there we also got the chance to meet up with my dad and Sherry and there adorable little girl Allie, we also got to see my Aunt Shell and her son Bo and my grandparents. It was fun to play and talk with them, and the kids were way excited to see them and play with Allie, and Kelby had tons of fun wrestling with Bo.

SCHOOLS OUT!!!

The last week of school was super busy but way fun! The kids had a water day, field trips and field day. Taylor had two field trips one was a walk to Albertsons, and the other was to the Hogle Zoo, which we made it a family day and met her there. It was Owens first time to the zoo and he kept saying "ooooh-oooh" ya he kinda talks like a monkey when he is excited. It was so cute!

It's Fun to be Outside!

We went to Moroni to watch Hannah, Makade, and Mayzie in the Dance Festival at the school which has become a tradition for us. It is so fun to see the different dances every year and we get to see the kids dance and have fun as well. Plus the kids get excited at any chance to see there cousins!

BEAUTIFUL YARD!

We went to Grandpa B and Grannys house on Sunday and were able to see there beautiful back yard in bloom. We got some great pictures of the flowers and plants and of the kids, and it was fun to visit and have the kids play with them.

Taylor had her performance this month with her performing group, Up With Kids, they did a spoof of Enchanted. There was singing, dancing and acting, a small musical. Taylor played Eve from Walle and a bride and rat. She had tons of fun being on stage, my little drama queen!

FUN AT THE FAIR!!

We just had the school carnival and it was so much fun! I was a little hesitant at first because of how big the school is and they hired someone to do it, instead of the PTA doing it. But it went really well, and the PTA could enjoy them selves as well. It was outside and the weather was perfect. There were rides, games and food. The kids had a blast!!
